Great to hear from you. As you know, I am a big fan and frequent visitor of your blog. I also, at times, feel the same way you do. I try to look at my tasks/to-do/activities as “projects”. Each project has a priority level in my life.

Some of my “projects” are: Family, Personal health, personal continuous education/training, personal branding, Uber Operations, Latino movement, Emerging technology, my personal expert network, and I am sure I am missing a few…each one of these has a different priority for me…obviously family and health are the most important in addition to faith but for example, my income producing job takes a bigger portion of my time as it provides the means to do other things like LISTA, STEM, speaking engagements and other volunteering opportunities. The interesting thing is that many of these overlap…for example, volunteering could potentially help my income producing “project”….

Now, with all these “projects” in my life, its important every once in a while to step back and analyze each one and re-prioritize if needed. I use a piece of scratch paper (I’m trying to use Evernote now) to lay out the things that I am working on and ask:

- why am I working on this?
- short-term and long-term benefits?
- how am I helping others?
- where in the priority list is this project?
- is this project allowing me to make a difference in this world?
- completion date?

Another thing to consider is that in life there are curve balls…unexpected events that force us to make adjustments, drop projects as you mentioned in your post or place a project or two on the back-burner. I have realized that its OK to do that….and its important to be flexible and understanding. (easier said that done in my personal experience)

Also, remember that there are people in your network that can help you. There are times where I am very busy and I am stuck on solving a problem. I push to figure out a solution and nothing happens and I get very frustrated..that’s when I pick up the phone, log in to Skype or just email a member of my Network of Experts and ask for help.
