I’m starting to learn my Spanish
language by this time. It is very difficult in the start but as the time
goes by, it seems to be exciting. I’m looking forward that I could learn my
learning on the future.

Louis – being a third generation American of Mexican descent, I too would not call myself truly 100% fluent in the Spanish language, even though I didn’t know a word of English when I started school. However, I was so ridiculed so badly there that I forced myself to learn English as quickly as possible. I didn’t realize it but my Mom states that as a young kid I would spend hours in front of the mirror at night repeating words in English trying so hard to enunciate correctly so that I wouldn’t be made fun of the next day.

Now, years later, I regret not paying attention to my Spanish and wishing I would have spoke more of it so I could be more proficient in it now…I probably speak it somewhere around your level; due to trying to “over-compensate” probably.

I’m about to do the same. My grandfather (via marriage) was PR and encouraged me to learn Spanish. I wish I listened. All these years later and I’m starting again. I’m going to try the NY Public Library’s Mango language system:

It’s free and from what I’ve heard, pretty good, esp. for those with some basic knowledge.
