SEO Is Dying

Subtitle:  Content Is King

I don’t concentrate too much on website optimization, because over the years of blogging I’ve noticed that content is more effective than SEO in the long run.

Today I was glad to read who I consider an authority to weigh in on content vs SEO:

The writing is on the wall. Small business marketing is moving away from focusing on SEO. Why do I say that? Because, well, Google and Bing are changing the rules so often and are getting so good at figuring out the real businesses that deserve to be on pages…It no longer is good enough to be just an SEO expert…You’ve gotta be great at creating content that gets Google’s algorithms to trust it…

I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but if I’m going to say something, then I should back it up.  Case in point is that this blog now is no2 for the search term “Latino + social media” and 6th for “Latinos in social media.” Not bad for a fairly young blog.

There are a few other key words I have eyeballed, but the second page is just not good enough at the moment.  More later…
