Subtitle: Video is the vehicle of choice

Found a video online.

It comes along with the tag: Who is the New Generation Latino? New Generation Latinos are 2nd and 3rd generation U.S. Latinos who prefer English Language media compared to Spanish Language media. New Generation Latinos make up 60% of all Latinos in the United States and 80% of Latinos online. They fall between the ages of 18-34, are educated and are using social media sites.

This promotional video on Latino social media could be better in my opinion, but it makes a great excuse to get up and dance.

What’s important here is that video will be an important tool in 2011. A decade ago it took a few hundred dollars to push out a gigabyte of video, today it’s only pocket change. More so, the habits of younger generations are changing and they are watching internet video at increasing rates.

I wanted to do a video similar like this over a year ago (this is dated July ’09 by the way) but lacked the video and animation experience, and couldn’t find anyone willing to collaborate.

There’s not much traffic on the YouTube account, I wonder if this was promoted or not or maybe used internally – what gives Telemundo?

I came across this on Twitter by way of my friends over at Bixalby the way.

Social media opens up more doors than any other medium that I know, especially when blended with traditional networking, such as picking up the phone and live interaction. As a matter of fact, I built most of my success online by building bridges offline.

These days, I’m all about networking and connecting. One great connection I made was with Miguel (@cumba), who’s a digital content provider and ‘gets’ social media. He came to the first Meetup in NY and we talked about video production and shared each others vision.

He’s really great at what he does, and has the ability to embrace exactly what a client describes and delivers. You can read more about our collaboration over at his blog. I’m going to cut to the chase and show the videos he produced from our discussions.
